We develop Upper Nyasem Khola Hydropower Project (43 MW) in Sindhupalchowk District.
Sindhujwala Hydropower Ltd. has been registered in the Office of the Company Registrar under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies on August 05, 2008. The purpose of this company is to develop Upper Nyasem Khola Hydropower Project in Sindhupalchowk District, Bagmati Zone in Nepal. The company has also been registered in the office of Inland Revenue Office of Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal (GON). The company has obtained the survey license for the generation of power of 9800 KW from the stream of Upper Nyasem Khola on April 10, 2009. Based on the provisions of Department of Electricity Development (DOED) of the Government of Nepal, the company has renewed the license based on the several achievements made by the company.
Upper Nyasem Khola Hydroelectric Project (43 MW) promoted by Sindhu Jwala Hydropower Limited is located in Jugal Rural Municipality Ward No:3,Sindhupalchowk District, Bagmati Zone Nepal. The site is located about 60 KM. northeast of Kathmandu and about 32 KM north of Balephi Bazaar located along Araniko Highway. Nyasem Khola ( Khola means a Small River) is a major snow fed river and a major tributary of the Balephi River. Nyasem Khola meets Balephi Khola at a place called Nimatol which is very close to the proposed powerhouse site for this project in the vicinity of Ambakharka Village. The project site lies between latitudes of 28°02’00” and 27°59’30” Nor and between longitudes 85°48’00” and 85°50’30” East. The proposed headworks site is located at Ombolde about 6 KM upstream from the confluence of Nyasem Khola and Balephi Khola at an elevation of 2809 masl. The flow from Nyasemkhola will be diverted to the Lampokhari Khola sub basin through headrace tunnel. Lampokhari Khola is tributary of Nyasem Khola . The desanding basin is proposed in the left bank in the surrounding area of Lampokhari. A small tyrolean type of intake has been proposed at Lampokhari Khola at an elevation of 2810 masl to collect the discharge from Lampokhari Khola . The added discharge from Lampokhari Khola along with the flow from Nyasem Khola will then be conveyed through a headrace canal proposed along the left bank to the forbay located at an elevation of 2801 masl. The water from forebay to the powerhouse will be conveyed through the penstock pipe. The powerhouse has been proposed to be located at an elevation of 1941 masl on the left bank of Nyasem Khola about 1.3 KM upstream from the confluence of Nyasem Khola and Balephi Khola.
